On the plus side it should be easier to gain visibility since there's only a small fraction of the ads on there before. But if it's something really niche that you didn't have much competition for anyway then yeah, it's bullshit all around.
I had a look at the sections I usually frequent and did the math. A person would only have to spend about 50 a month to stay visible, if even that, which isn't too bad if the additional visibility leads to more business.
To renew the ad after 48 hours, do you have to pay $5 again? Because at that point, it would be $5 to post the ad, then additional $75 to renew it for the month if you renew every 48 hours (15 of the days in the month).
It does charge you again when you renew it. Ads still stay up for 7 days with new or renewed postings. You should look through the sections you post in and reevaluate whether you even need to renew that often anymore. There are dramatically fewer ads now.
So I should pay to post a new ad to test it out? I renewed every 48 hours to get new responses from models. ---
