I "saw" a shadow person when I was 8 or 9. I still remember it very clearly. As a skeptic I'm doubtful, but my memory is pretty solid (I still remember being held by my mom) and it's very clear in my mind. Up to this day it's the only time I've ever seen something that wasn't actually there.

As a rational person I can accept that it wasn't real, but at the same time the memory is very clear. So I can see how others might have had similar experiences, though based on illusions or tricks of the brain or whatever, and come to the conclusion that it was real, and so I can believe that they at least think they saw something and understand why they take it so seriously.

Seems like only the people (of those I know at least) who have done psychedelics at some point in their lives have paranormal experiences. Everyone I know who've never done any of those things have never had any such experiences.

It's practically a 1:1 correlation. This is just from the people I've personally known, though, so not really proof of anything.

Fwiw I haven't done psychedelics. Nor has my buddy that had the Gettysburg experience.

Yeah, I probably should have clarified that I was talking more about the people who really believe what they saw and have such experiences frequently. Isolated incidences are within the normal range of human experience.
