I'd consider distant counter if you want to give her an expensive skill and make her a green mage counter. I typically have a rally on my Eirika's support skill too. If the three other units have positioning skills, it is usually fine. The extra boost is sometimes necessary for my Tharja to blow something up, like an OHKO on Myrrh.
