You call them regulars, I'd call them alcoholics.

Most industries have regular patrons with their own quirks. I work next to a bar that serves food and for a couple years, like clockwork, this old guy would show up around 11am, hawk a loogie after getting out of his car and proceed into the bar. Eventually youll know what time it is simply because of the current patrons.

Bit different when alcohol is involved. Otherwise, when I worked retail, I can't remember *that* many regulars, other than when I worked at a movie rental place.

but it is interesting seeing people like this.

my manager was saying something the other day, at a different store she had a guy come in and buy a bottle(750ml i think) every day. he looked pretty bad, and one day he said the doctor gave him six months to live so he was going to enjoy it. eventually he did die, but thats such a sad way of living imo. bring drunk all the time, while artificially happy, isnt actually enjoying life.

Not sure how most people would deal with what effectively amounts to a quick death sentence. I guess they could try to beat the odds or maybe go on a John Goodman-style rampage.
