(Clannad > Little Busters VN > Kanon (2006) > Little Busters anime > Angel Beats > Air, imo) Episode 3(?) was a top tier anime episode though imo. Kino's Journey was solid. Agree with the atmosphere being the main positive point, though I think the stories/societies themselves are pretty interesting sometimes also.
