I've always liked this idea. If both people have a job, then you can both work and clean. But if only one person has a job, then the person that doesn't can clean, cook, do whatever chores around the house, etc.. I do think that things can change once they have kids, though. Kids can be tough to raise. So, while the stay at home parent can still use the day while the kid(s) is/are at school to do stuff, it would be nice to have help with a few things later on. Especially during the summer. But I think responsible adults could find the appropriate amount to split...
