It was just largely a matter of "this is awesome, we're beating such powerful enemies," but it didn't feel like there was any tension or stakes or enjoyment to be had, due to the way that the good guys would just summarily stomp every battle. The most important thing that the show needed to convince me of was that what I was seeing was awesome, it just never clicked in my lizard brain that way. And I think that that feeling of "THIS IS AWESOME" really needs to hit your lizard brain. --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ...
