Topic	Why do people want "life lessons" to be taught in HS?

Like, balancing a checkbook isn't necessary in today's world but if you do want to do it, you're literally just adding and subtracting. And taxes tell you how to file them as you go along, unless you have specific situations in which case you want an accountant with you K-12 education is about teaching you to think critically.
