If you just looked at which have been prominently featured in the anime, particularly movies, you'd probably have a somewhat reasonable approximation. I don't think Top 100 list featuring a lot of Legendary/Mythical Pokemon has anything to do with the fact that most of them have been featured in the movies. As the voting process was intended to select a Pokemon to be distributed as an event at a Pokemon Movie showing, this was clearly going to benefit the Legendary/Mythical Pokemon. The Top 100 list does show signs of being influenced by the anime, as seen by Sylveon finishing in the Top 5.
