Topic	Poor and American, 40% of the US can't afford the 4 middle class basics

I'm going to completely strawman your suggestions because I don't want to buy the cheaper cell phone or live with a roomie. I don't go "muh bootstraps" but I've lived in poverty and my parents lived in fairly extreme poverty, so I come from people amazed at what people feel they "need" to survive and be happy.
