It's been going for years and my folks love it - I've watched a few eps and didn't mind it, even though crime dramas aren't my thing. I only ask because an eight-year run with (to my knowledge) no sign of stopping is pretty successful by any metric, and studio heads have to be looking at that one as inspiration when they keep digging up old crime-drama franchises. I actually thought about that. 5-O was an older series and Jack Lord didn't have the same presence as Tom Selleck or John Hillerman. But who knows?
