| KCF0107 05/22/18 4:07:12 AM #37: | Seventh Round Browns P Jacob Schum (198th overall) - VI strikes me a more patient and forgiving GM than most of us. The very fact that he signed a backup punter leads me to believe there is an excellent chance that once the 40 year old Kyle Richardson inevitably retires this next offseason, Schum will be re-signed and given the chance to start. Redskins SS Jermaine O'Leske (193rd overall) Pioneers SS Charles Ogden (220th overall) - These are both up here for the same reason, so I might as well combine their write up. No player benefits from special teams more than the backup SS. If you wonder why they have surprisingly higher statistics than most backups and on the rare occasion accumulate a higher tackle total than the man they back up, that is why. Both O'Leske and Ogden, barring additional transactions by the Redskins and Pioneers respectively, will be the #2 guys. There's nothing more to it than that.
