Favorite Three Draft Classes

Cincinnati Bengals:
DT Michael Brockers (27)
CB Dee Milliner (59)
C Travis Frederick (65)
SS Maurice Alexander (91)
TE Jordan Cameron (123)
WR Chris Hogan (129)
RT Dusty Swain (187)
RG Mike Claiborne (219)

All eight of the Bengals picks I expect to be future starters for their team or major contributors off the bench. While teams draft just try to fill holes and such (Bengals will still have two if they sign everyone), this looks like my kind of draft haul in thinking ahead and playing the long game. They already had 4 DTs, 2 Cs, 2 TEs, and 6 CBs. Did that deter them from picking those positions? No! DT Michael Brockers and CB Dee Milliner could start Week 1. C Travis Frederick might see himself start Week 1 due to injuries, and is a good bet to see significant snaps regardless. TE Jordan Cameron could very well be the starter next season after L.J. Smith retires. The rest at this moment have significant, defined roles unless their ratings are far, far worse than what their positional peers taken around them were bestowed.

Mexico City Browns
HB Mike Ingram (16)
RG Kevin Zeitler (29)
RG Brandon Brooks (38)
C Mike Pouncey (102)
WR Travis Benjamin (134)
LG Scott Gamble (166)
P Jacob Schum (198)

The Browns could not run the ball, and their interior OL completely collapsed last season, including suffering two career-ending injuries. Entering the draft, the Browns had no 80+ HBs on their roster, and just two combined Gs + Cs. While time will tell, the Browns made a seemingly excellent decision trading back from #6 to acquire the #16 and 29 picks. They used those two picks plus their next two on a HB (#2 overall prospect taken at #16) and three interior OL. The rest of their picks went to future slot receiver and possible KR/PR Travis Benjamin, another G to add to the pile, and possibly their punter of the future. Not everything will work out as planned because the RNG can be a cruel mistress, but this was one of the more flawless draft executions I've seen.

San Francisco 49ers
LG Trai Turner (10)
FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (36)
QB Bryce Rivers (48)
LOLB Ryan Shazier (58)
WR Tavon Austin (80)
MLB Zach Orr (86)
CB Tony Stevens (112)
C Corey Linsley (118)
RT Isaac Nixon (144)
MLB Dale Bonds (157)

Much like the Ravens last season, I love seeing large draft hauls with a wide variety of picks. The 49ers took 1 QB, 1 WR, 1 OT, 1 G, 1 C, 2 MLB, 1 OLB, 1 CB, 1 FS. As many as four have the opportunity to come out as starters after the preseason, and several others will be the top backup. Unlike the somewhat similar mini-blowup that the Ravens did last season to get them all those picks and opportunities for said picks, the 49ers have a better infrastructure in place to expect great things out of their team this season should Scare make the right moves and adjustments from this point forward.
