None of the other studios are making as much quality original animes as they are, let alone do a good job at that. Little Witch, Gurren Lagaan (I guess technically not them but you get the point), Space Patrol Luluco, and Darling in the Franxx are all pretty damn good. Little Witch and Gurren Lagaan are personally in my top 10 animes ever. Obviously they don't always hit gold. I'm not the biggest fan of Kill La Kill, and a lot of their shows follow really similar plot progression. They're also weirdly averse to relationships being fulfilled. Darling in the Franxx gets a lot of hate for its sexuality, the core theme that the entire series so far has revolved around. For people who don't care about themes being explored in a meaningful way, as in people who grew up in a different and more technologically advanced world try to deal with the primal feelings that we find primitive, I can see that they won't fully be able to appreciate it. But my advice to people who don't care for exploration and deeper conversations, it's wiser to say you simply couldn't engage in the topic that the anime explores rather than comment on the anime itself.
