She would be in jail right now if the prosecution had charged her with wrongful death and lying to the police which they had the evidence to prove, they went for murder though to make for a bigger trial and she walked because of it
They charged her with three varying degrees of charges. First-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse. She was found not guilty of all of them.
She was only found guilty of misdemeanor charges of lying to the police. She did 10 days in jail due to the time she served waiting for trail and during trial. Two of those convictions ended up getting overturned on appeal.
