It was a scheduled 9 day trial over a $300,000 piece of equipment designed to make aluminum fence posts. At the time the company was making posts from 3/4" PVC pipe expanded in a press. They wanted to do the same thing with 3" aluminum pipe. The judge told us it had been in litigation for 7 years or so and had ballooned well beyond the cost of the equipment. Settlement was confidential in the sense that the jury wasn't told what it was. ...
