Well, look at how many things have been attacked in name of social justice. Do you think any of that helps liberal sentiment?

For example, attacking a 25 year old fan loved show because of an Indian character usage?

This is what I mean before of how there is so much fake outrage

OK let's clarify a few things.

1. I haven't seen anyone on Board 8 complaining about Apu.

2. HOWEVER It's certainly not "fake outrage", there are people who genuinely dislike Apu, they are mostly actors of East Indian descent.

I will defend their right to freedom of speech.

(Personally, I don't have a strong opinion on Apu; I'm white and haven't watched The Simpsons in years.)

(I can also at least understand why these actors are upset--East Indian actors have trouble finding acting roles in Hollywood, and here's one of the most famous East Indian characters on TV voiced by a white guy. Supposedly it doesn't help that the accent he's imitating is not actually an East Indian accent, but Peter Sellers' accent from a 1968 movie called "The Party", where they used brown makeup on Peter Sellers instead of casting an Indian actor).

But like...again, I've never really had a strong opinion on Apu (being white) and I'm guessing most of B8 is the same. How would you suggest people on the left respond to this? Deny racial minorities the right to free speech? Publicly disavow racial minorities when they express a complaint that doesn't affect me personally?

I choose option C: say nothing cause I really don't care. I don't care if they change the voice actor of a minor character; I also dson't care if they don't change that voice actor. Even if I was still watching, would I even notice if the voice actor changed? Would I care if I did?
