The problems were inherently American and not British, what the fuck are you talking about?
We have different problems. But the specific ones they were protesting weren't as relevant to us.
Also, it's a dick move to go to another country and do that when they have welcomed you. Criticising your own country is fine, though. Obviously
Be for or against the kneeling, I don't give a shit what you think, but at least use better logic for Christ's sake. That is tragically bad.
It wasn't about your country. It was about social justice. Criticizing your country during an anthem that is giving respect to your flag is disrespecting your country, flag, and anthem. You are debating against yourself with all the wiggling you are trying to do.
If it wasn't disrespectful then it would not have been disrespectful to the British who welcomed you into their country either.
You just made my point. Thank you. It is disrespectful.
What reason do American football players have to protest an American problem by kneeling during an unrelated national anthem?
It is all about "awareness". It doesn't matter if they knelt during it according to you because it was raising awareness. And, it isn't offensive to anyone by kneeling during the British anthem supposedly so it would not have mattered.
But again, the issue wasnt with the British police. Protesting during their anthem would be disrespectful to BOTH flags because it would say to America It doesnt matter WHEN we kneel. Were just gonna choose moments that are as disrespectful as possible to troll people.
Whereas, by limiting it to the U.S. national anthem, its highlighting that the issue is strictly American, and the protest is purely for attention to the matter, not to show disrespect. ---
