I caught up on all the other MCU movies awhile back (didn't make topics for Thor 3, Black Panther, and maybe Guardians 2?)

First of all, Thursday night a month after release, I figured me and my friend would be the only ones in the theater. We weren't. It was us and two other girls. WHO WERE THE FUCKING WORST. Overreaction to all the cheesy jokes, and they were straight up bawling after The Snap. And generally just chatting about what was going on during the entire goddamn movie. I waited for crowds to clear to specifically avoid people like them. GODDAMMIT. Maybe Thanos had the right idea.

Anyway...

That was really good. Ended ABRUPTLY.

Random thoughts:
- they really managed to accomplish a ton. similar to Civil War, it's amazing how they balance so many characters. But this time there was less juggling of personal motivations and it was more of a standard team-up of every who's-who in the MCU thus far. So a little less impressive of a feat, but at least the villain wasn't completely wacky and nonsensical like in Civil War.
- I really liked all of the interactions between the characters meeting for the first time. Stark v. Quill, Stark v. Strange (though this was a little underdeveloped imo), Thor and Rabbit, Spidey's quips in general.
- Overall I was more engaged in the Stark/Guardians half of the plot than Wakanda. But most of that is i think because i still really love how well Tom Holland plays Spidey
- holy shit tyrian!!!!!
- new spidey suit is badass
- new iron man suit is a little too anime, but still hilarious
- Thor's still the best Avenger
- i generally don't like chris pratt as a serious actor, but his lines were funny here. calling Thanos "Grimace" was too good.
- they can't do Loki dirty like that
- i really like how they managed to recall each separate film's distinct styles to indicate who was the focus. The Guardians scene with the music, Wakanda, and Dr. Strange in particular.
- so....the people that are left are basically the original Avengers plus Nebula?
- having the heroes all fade away was a pretty badass spectacle overall though. what a way to end the movie.
- i really hope they don't bring everyone back with the time stone. but they will. in fact, i am willing to bet money that everyone is brought back and rocket makes a joke to bucky harkening back to their interaction about the gun/arm.
- one of my complaints of the later MCU movies is that the action scenes lack the weight that, say, Iron Man 1 had. this movie does a much better job of bringing some of that back. particularly where Cap is punching people left and right.
- what, uh...what was red skull doing on valomir or whatever? why is he protecting the soul stone? and what happened to hugo weaving?
- where did thor's new girlfriend chick from ragnarok go?

also, i didn'treally care about ant man 2, but now i want to watch it just to see how it handles a post-Snap earth.

and am i supposed to care about the captain marvel tease? like...i dunno anything about her powers or background--what is she going to do in the battle against thanos that, say, thor can't?
