Whether they're attached to the console, attached to a joycon grip to be more like a normal controller, or just held separately in each hand, all three of these methods are functionally the same, just with different form factor. do multiplayer games require you to use 4 joycons total, or does each person get one? can you choose for each to use two? This varies by game. Some can be played 2-player with two joycons total, held horizontally, but some require a full set of buttons for each player. There are system options to assign what joycons are for which player. I dont suppose it'd support wii u or wii controllers either?
