Literally said eating lots of carbs was keto, that was blatantly false and if that's the shit you were doing, I'm not surprised you chugged the weight back on.

But let's be serious, a person who's aggressive about vegan ethics isn't going to be somebody who ever actually done keto.

Again, begone Vegan.

I did keto for a while and seeing how wasteful it was sparked the action for me to give it up entirely. No one needs to eat as many animal products as this diet promotes. It's an environmental and health disaster. It was realizing how poorly aligned that diet was to my values that pushed me over.

Under 50 grams of carbs a day is considered a low carbohydrate diet. You can do keto with up to 50 a day. I understand the range is usually under 25 and that's what my personal macros were at. It's untenable to eat that way for life. As soon as you go over the weight comes back.

No one that practices vegan can continue keto. Plenty of people have done keto and wised up about the negative environmental impact that diet has. Some people are capable of reflection and personal growth. Don't worry, you might get there!

I have read a lot of negatives of keto, but that one never came up. Source?

In conclusion, the present study shows that a high-fat KD causes hepatic insulin resistance in mice, which can be attributed to an increase in hepatic DAG content, leading to PKC activation and subsequent impaired insulin signaling. Moreover, this study found that a KD increases energy expenditure, which results in weight loss. Given the widespread use of KD in the treatment of obesity and the role of NAFLD and hepatic insulin resistance in promoting type 2 diabetes, these results may have important clinical implications, as obese patients on such diets could lose weight but develop NAFLD and hepatic insulin resistance.

The good thing is it does seem to reverse itself over time, but it does mean that yes your insulin resistance gets fucked up and you will put that weight right back on
