What I don't understand about this practice is even if you're a SJW who is hardcore on those politics, putting "over the top, beat you over the head with obvious leftist propaganda" in your movies drives anyone who isn't already a SJW away from those beliefs. The only people this kind of message resonates with, are people who already agree with the message, so it defeats it's own purpose. How far up your own butt is your head that you cannot understand this.
