The best word I'd use to describe The Avengers is "entertaining". It's not some transcendent piece of cinema and much of what made it special is commonplace now, but overall it still works. The plot is nothing to write home about but it's still decent and able to carry the action, which starts early and progressively ramps up, culminating in a pretty epic climax. At the same time it isn't so filled with action that the action scenes lose their impact - this is not Transformers!. The fight scenes aren't amazing but they're still enjoyable. There's a fair bit of naturally witty dialogue in this movie, I guess the MCU hadn't yet gotten to the point where it tried to make EVERYTHING into a joke. Honestly I just caught it coming on TV and decided to watch it, and I can't say I regret it. --- "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil ... Copied to Clipboard! |
