On the other, in hindsight Al is a semi-sympathetic character: a guy trying to put meager bread on his family's table on to vilified for not bringing home more of it so they don't have to do that icky work stuff. The family dynamic was abusive. They stole from him. Even Marcy only seemed to exist to fuck with him and take away what little pleasures he had (what that NO'MAM episode started on actually) so the whole show would be seen as offensive to people for daring to make the man the victim of the women in his life and showing it as a bad thing. --- ...
