why in the flying fuck would you be in a meeting if you're not going to pay attention

Is this a trick question to get me to talk more about my job so you can bitch about me bragging

There are 20 people here and I've said what I need to say and heard what I needed, and it's not like typing on gamefaqs.gamespot.com takes up my attention continuously

the rule with meetings is that if you are not getting value out of them and if you are not providing value, you leave. otherwise your entire organization suffers from the bloat of expensive and pointless meetings.

If the company wants to pay him to show up at a meeting he doesn't need to be at, that's not his problem.

you make the big bucks once you learn how to leverage entire teams into a more productive state. optimizing meetings is an easy way to do that.

example: if a company is reimbursing expenses while working out of state and you find a hotel that is the same quality but 50% cheaper and closer to the work site, you end up saving the company a ton of money and time (which means more money) because of the leverage you gave to the entire team that is staying at that hotel. which means you can justify a bigger paycheck.
