Yeah, I went with three under the umbrella of "nobody is trying to change anyone's mind, it's just a conversation". As soon as somebody tries to force their "correct opinion" on me, I'm done and just don't want to bother anymore.

Online, it's a matter of no longer replying. In person, not so much. I tried being the bigger one with my cousin's husband one day and walked away from him three times. It ended with me yelling at him to go fuck himself, right out in the street (because I literally left the building the third time), and the neighbours all came out and were going to call the cops because they thought a fight was going to break out. I walked off and then he spent the evening texting my phone from two different numbers about how he was right. I didn't talk to him for 5-6 years after that.
