Here's where the trip up is for a lot of people, as 3 is still in parentheses we have to clear it out... keep in mind if it was written 6/2(1+2) it would be different but the multiplication sign is absent so we still have a parentheses to take care of:

He is wrong. 6/2x(1+2) is the exact same thing as 6/2(1+2). It is 9
Actually it's not. Parentheses has to be solved first regardless of the sign ---
