There is no better image of the state we live in than a protestor being arrested under the heel of the statue of liberty. Yeah, because "Land of the Free" means freedom from any trespassing laws and consequences for pants on head stupid actions like protesting by climbing a monument on a day where law enforcement is on edge for terrorist attacks. It's called Civil Disobedience. Yeah, she's a real agent of change. First Amendment. Her statement after the event is pretty solid. She didn't hurt anyone. The Statue has been closed before. And there is plenty to do in NYC. Just the view of The Statue from Battery Park is amazing. As I said before, if this is the only crap that came from The 4th, in 2018, which it seems to be, then it was a good, slow news day. Bullshit. She wasted taxpayer dollars and emergency services time, in addition to fucking up everyone's day who was there to see the statue. And probably can't now because they were tourists.
