Another fun fact? Ditko was a hardcore conservative, which is something of a rarity in the comics biz.

Far beyond that. He was a dyed-in-the-wool Objectivist.

He basically created The Question as a character to explore and promote that ideology (which is why Alan Moore parodied him with Rorschach - only to be kind of horrified when so many people saw Rorschach as being completely right and the only true hero in the story).

Ditko was also one of the very few creators who adamantly denied he had any right to future profits for his work because he was on a work-for-hire contract, and who regularly shit on artists like Kirby who complained or sued to get royalties. Which is why Marvel loved promoting him and Stan Lee (who was always willing to play ball and be the corporate spokesman) over people like Kirby.
