There are a lot of reasons to get married. The ability to share health insurance and other benefits that only spouses and direct family can get, the right to visit in the hospital, usually the default right to your partner's belongings when they die unless a will says otherwise, being "really together" in the eyes of idiots who think marriage is necessary for a relationship... And romance. Some people think it's romantic to get married.
