And thus they felt it. Just because they didn't immediately check it out doesn't mean they wouldn't have eventually. The whole reason Sorbet and Tagoma quickly left was because they knew someone would come after them if they stayed. Trunks and Krilin didn't immediately go after Cell's energy when they felt him; they still went to check it out eventually. Nothing suggests that the Z Fighters wouldn't have eventually come after Freeza's energy had Freeza stayed on Earth.

Furthermore, Freeza's ki was small upon being revived as he needed to be healed; thus, they have less of an incentive to immediately go to where his energy is. The Cell Jrs would have been far stronger than the weakened Freeza (they were above buff SS at birth. The Zenkai they would have gotten from Gohan would have brought them far higher than that, too), so the Z Fighters would have more reason to check them out. There's no comparison here.

They initially mistake Cell when they first sense him, then focus in on it and notice. Specifically noting the energy readings matching specific people when they mimic attacks.

And they still went to see Cell eventually. There's no reason that the Z Fighters wouldn't eventually check out the Cell Jrs, who would have been on Earth the whole time.

I will admit that is me fishing, no doubt.

And thus you're talking out of your ass. The fact you're going to such desperate lengths to defend garbage writing, so desperate that you're coming up with your own head canon, is pitiful.
