- Incumbent President - No opposition from within his own party - Full and unconditional support from his base (the majority of America) - Its almost 2019 and any serious contenders should have started raising funds already - Stable economy - Low unemployment - People equate Dems with liberals and liberals in America are effing nuts. No matter how insane the GOP is somehow, someway... Dems find ways to make them look OK in comparison. They did Bernie too wrong in 2016. California is letting unregistered people vote in some local elections. Trying to censor and jail people with dissenting views (check out some threads on CE any day of the week).
The net affect is any moderate is going to either waste a vote or not vote at all. So, status quo will remain in effect. That's how politics work.
As sad as this is, hes not wrong.
