It was about how there's no such thing as a hero anymore, that people who were considered hero back then would most likely be ostracized into obscurity now because the media and the people are constantly watching. Looking back at it now, it was pretty prophetic. The purpose of the article was obviously to make people more aware that it was starting to happen and would only get worse, that we'd eventually lose any semblance of a role model growing up.
