They problem is that they look good up front; lower premiums, and you can sock away money tax free for use later. Plus a lot of companies (mine included) contribute money to your HSA in order to get you to switch.

But in reality I never want to go for the doctor for anything other than my free physical, because I have to pay a ton of money each time. It's basically behavioral economics at work, and I don't think it will have good long term outcomes.
