Just get a traditional plan. You never know what will happen. Insurance is a fucking scam but I'd rather get fucked gently throughout the year than completely demolished one day.

Do you have an HSA to go with it? The tax savings would have paid for several doctors appointments. It's like free money.


Yeah you have to factor in the difference in premiums between the two, how often you go to doctors in a typical year, HSA contributions made by your employer and your own HSA contributions. If you're young and healthy odds are you will be better off with a HDHP.
