But why wait? BRCA mutation cancers are not nice and just go away when you find them. They're often aggressive and metastasize quickly. If you had 24/7 monitoring then sure, no problem. But women don't live with a X-ray or MRI stuck to their boobs all day and night so that's not possible.

Why do people get colonoscopies at age 50? Because they are screening for polyps. Well why don't you just wait until you get polyps to do the colonoscopy? Because you don't know you have polyps until you get the colonoscopy. And if one of those polyps happens to be the aggressive kind, then you're already at risk for cancer that could have been screened for years before.
