Being gay was a mental disorder in the DSMII and was removed in the DSMIII and all later additions. But seriously if you go to a doctor and say youre in the wrong body, you need your wang cut off and to undergo surgery they should look at you the same was as if you went in an asked for your arm to be amputated.
