| Darmik 08/01/18 6:55:26 PM #41: | The biggest thing that annoys me about each service (not sure if Nintendo does this) is putting a paywall behind discounts. It's crap. It's a cheap way to give it some fake value. It's not like the discounts are more significant than digital game stores without subscriptions and this stuff should be all decided by the developers. I also think they should offer a cheap tier that doesn't offer the monthly 'free' games but we all know why they don't do that. Outside of the games they give away with the subscription it's really just easy money for them. They're not using the profit to give you some amazing service that justifies paying the premium. Perhaps Microsoft uses Xbox Live revenue to justify their insanely good BC program but I have no idea what Sony (and Nintendo) are doing other than licking their lips over all that money. But hey this is what the market has decided so here we are. Sony and Nintendo could have forced Microsoft's hand by offering free services but they chose not to.
