Alright, drop the gimmick for two seconds and explain what the point of a Space Force is. Include in your explanation why it's worth the amount of money it will cost to establish, and preferably don't talk about aliens.
We need a Space Force to maintain our military dominance. The other countries who claim to be our allies only do so because they know that we have vastly superior military that they want on their side. And countries who have a neutral or hostile relationship with would immediately attack us or make demands of us (or other countries) if they had the ability to attack us from space and we had no answer to it.
We absolutely need to beat everyone else to the punch for our own security and the security of the world in general. Imagine if a country like NK gained the ability to start raining down nukes from space and no one had a defense against it.
