EITHER He is blocked and lives and you now are with confirmed town, no risk of dieing, and you dont reveal it and eventually when he dies you get his actual watch result

OR he is killed and is not blocked and you are STILL mason so you would get his watch result

Or he dies because I didn't save him, you still get me to claim I targeted him and we're in the exact same spot we are now except with a dead Watcher instead of a living one. Because if scum had tried to shoot him, not exactly an implausible situation, that's exactly how it would play out. No one would believe "oh I conveniently targeted the dead town power but he's totally my bro now I swear", that's dumb. I'd be an idiot to not try to actually keep him alive.
