| Topic | "100 bucks a month on comics is nothing" |
| Zeus 08/11/18 2:54:11 AM #34: | Resynchronized posted... I don't understand this topic. What you spend is completely related to what you earn. Welcome to the world of NMB. Miroku_of_Nite1 posted... I mean you could be a NEET on welfare and in a section 8 housing unit and $500 a month could go to comics/video games/figurines. Meanwhile you could own a car and a home and work a decent job but only spare $100 for entertainment a month. God bless America! NightMareBunny posted... and i guess that's what shocked me on the comics board is that most of them came off as they had no bills or very little expenses to consider They obviously have bills, but they also have income. And when your income greatly exceeds your bills, you have money left over. Shouldn't be shocking to anybody who's had a job and personal responsibilities. Golden Road posted... Either that's a whole lotta' comic books, or inflation hit comics really hard. The cover price is pretty insane these days. Not sure how much better subscriptions are. Granted, I guess inflation is an issue, too. If you go way back, in 1960 a McDonald's hamburger was 15-cents and a comic book was 10-cents. Nowadays that same hamburger is a dollar and the cover price for comics is like three or four dollars. In the past almost 60 years, comics have gone from being worth 66% of a McDonald's hamburger to 300-400% of a McDonald's hamburger... and both have half the meat >_> Golden Road posted... It's less to do with being home schooled, and more to do with inflation hitting comics hard, apparently. I was absolutely shocked when Inhumane said comics go for $20-$35 nowadays. He was pointing out that NMB's math didn't really jive. --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
