Topic	Which two popular Simpsons characters have died?

As polarising as Principal and the Pauper was, at least they didn't do something as dumb as killing off the original character and then replacing him with a different character who becomes his doppelgnger anyway making it a completely pointless death. That was one of the few plotlines from the non-good portion of the series that I actually thought sounded kind of clever. But I guess I also liked Principal and the Pauper, and never understood the fanboy outrage over the episode.
