Don't know why they chose the damn SR just for that. I know why. It's a closed area for classified information communication/transfer. A common, if shady, practice that goes beyond just the Trump admin is marking materials classified not because they are actually classified by any security-classification guide, but rather because they are information that would be uncomfortable for the executive branch to release to the public. Such materials, in safe forms such as .txt files or .jpg files, when confirmed to be free of classified material, can be removed from classified networks. However, not everyone can do this. Only authorized parties can downgrade unclassified material in a classified environment for release to unclassified networks/the public. The Chief of Staff would be such an authorized party. When he 'downgraded' their conversation for release to the public, he lied, and stated she chose to resign. They fired her in there so they could lie about it and she couldn't correct the lies without committing a felony. No one expected she'd commit a felony. As for why she was allowed in? At my workplace, most closed areas have no detection systems for this; we're on the honor system.
