"Guys" implies a casual bondness or friendship in the sense that you and the other speaker are on buddy-buddy terms with each other. But if a stranger calls me a "guy," it feels disingenuous. Such as a Youtuber speaking to an audience and say "What's up guys" What do you mean "what's up". You know I'm not going to reply to you and you read about my day, so why talk to me in a language that implies we're friends? I'm not your "guy" "Hi everyone" honestly sounds more genuine and flexible. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
