62 y/o Christine Hallquist became the first transgender candidate to be nominated for Governor in a state as she'll face off with Republican incumbent, Phil Scott who survived a bitter backlash from his base over gun restrictions he supported!!

Phil defeted Keith Stern in his quest for a second term as he got over 65% of the vote.

Christine won the Democrat primary with 25,000+ votes, more than double her next challenger James Ehlers, an environmentalist with 12,000 votes.

14 y/o Ethan Sonneborn made headlines recently for being the only youngster in the primary who entered as a progressive with real ideas of change and came in last with an impressive 4400 votes!!

Scott said it was a lot closer than he anticipated based on his actions on guns but that people still supported him because of the progress he made

Christine, a utility executive said her focus is on improving the state's economy and while she acknowledged the symbolism of a transgender candidate being nominaed, she doesn't want people to look at her status as a reason to vote for her but what ideas she brings to thet able and she demonstrated that through her work in civil rights.

She's a married grandmother to a woman who supports a 15 minimum wage, overdose prevention sites and paid family leave insurance. While she supports an AR-15 ban, it's not high on her priority list as governor as well.
