No, only the normal kind of creationists. Granted, I *could* know some YECs without knowing they are YECs

Yeah, unfortunately I do. I try to really give them a chance when they present their ideas, but when the words "God created--" come out, I tune out hard.

If you're gonna argue creationism, evolution, and even the annunaki gene editing argument-- try to at least establish a common ground for fuck's sake.

Creationists and YEC aren't the same thing. YEC is a form of creationism, and sometimes includes the belief that dinosaurs are still alive.

YECs really aren't uncommon. If polls are to be believed, somewhere around 40% of Americans are YECs. They might seem less common due to some of them keeping quiet 'cause of all the rabid hate they get.

I thought the 40% was regular and then something like18% was YEC? It's presumably most common among Evangelicals (and I would assume Mormons) and those aren't evenly spread across the country. Ergo, it's probably common in some areas but not that common in others.

As for being vocal, how often does that really come up in conversation? I doubt that they try to hide their beliefs, but it's not like people often just talk about it.
