It's a good self-defense weapon but the over-penetration of the 5.7mm round is probably sub-optimal compared to JHP 9mm weapons. The P90 by most accounts is an accurate and effective paramilitary weapon with unusually controllable automatic fire given how high its rate of fire is. The 50-round standard mags seems impressive but because of the high-rate of fire it can still go through a magazine fairly quickly.
