We discussed a lot of the environmental issues that face the world now and will face in the future if current trends continue (such as a limited amount of clean water), as well as things we - both as a community and on a personal level - can do to help. We looked at potential futures and what would need to happen in order to meet those futures. We also discussed politics a bit and how legislature affects the environment, though "politics" was definitely not a focus of the class. My instructor was part of a UN board for the environment (I can't remember the exact board right now), and he shared a lot of the interesting projects that people were doing to help discover more about the world and to help solve some of the environmental issues that plague it. There's a lot of neat stuff out there. Nomak-54 posted... Currently wait-listed, should I just give up? A friend of mine, who happened to be an RA, mentioned simply showing up to the class anyway. Most likely, a student on the list will not show up. If you're there on day one, the instructor will remember that and may "bump" you to the top of the waiting list so that you'll be officially in, assuming that student doesn't show up the next week either. ...
