People are standing here looking at the real deal and calling it cartoonish, as if that somehow makes sense.

I don't think you realize how little sense your mindset actually makes, and it's honestly hard for me to specifically articulate why it doesn't. The best I can say is that just because some women can achieve these proportions through genetic lottery or a very specific diet / workout regiment doesn't invalidate the cartoonish status of said proportions. If a woman walked into a room with the exact figure of Jessica Rabbit, would her cartoon version cease to be, or be suddenly accepted as photorealism?

Even beyond my personal taste on the issue, my problem with this emerging trend is that I do feel it's setting unfair body standards on women, who are increasingly expected to maintain the best features of two very different body types.

Expecting women to be rail thin like most models isnt any better.
