You either don't know the difference between a rug and a carpet, you're lying, or you pay thousands of dollars twice a year to pull up your carpeting and underlayment then have new carpeting installed each year, since you can't reuse pulled up carpeting unless you cut it down for a smaller room than the one it came from.
Where I come from literally noone glues (or whatever you do) the carpets to the floor. Wtf is that? If it fits the room, it won't move, especially if there's furniture on it.
